With breathtaking floral illustration and gold calligraphy ink, this is one of my favourite bespoke wedding invitations. The look is whimsical and romantic, perfect for a relaxed summer wedding. This bespoke stationery piece is a collaboration with the wonderfully talented Welsh illustrator and designer Amy Swann. It appeared in an editorial feature on Rock My Wedding, another top UK wedding blog. We have since developed a printed version of this invitation, which is available to buy. Please contact me for details.

The calligraphy invitations above were gold ink on torn edge art paper, teamed with silk ribbon and palest ivory wax seals, and combined printed elements and hand written finishing. International wedding photographer Nicole Colwell Photography teamed up with stylists Lily & Sage for this breathtaking inspiration, which was featured on fine art wedding blog Wedding Sparrow.

Digital wedding invitations with calligraphy

Digital wedding invitations with calligraphy scanned from a handwritten original - By Moon and Tide, UK

The newest addition to my wedding calligraphy and invitation collection, you can now order a digital wedding invitation file designed by me, with elements of original calligraphy, costing from £35 to £95. You’ll receive a single digital file, which you can then send to a printer, or print your own invitations at home, or upload them to your wedding website.

I’ve created 5 beautiful layouts at different price points, and given you the option of 5 different calligraphy styles for the hand lettering (which is scanned, polished in Photoshop and sent to you).

Your calligraphy will be written by hand, then scanned at high resolution, digitally tidied up, and sent to you by email.

I hope you love these – I’m looking forward to writing and designing them for you!

dark and dramatic alternative wedding stationery with calligraphy

This was a modern, playful and dark wedding invitation suite created especially for an editorial photoshoot, which was featured on English Wedding. The paper is lush and almost a charcoal black; the edges are torn, and the calligraphy is in softly shining, metallic gold gouache.

I sourced textured blue cotton rag paper for this unique wedding invitation suite. The ink is delicate gold in a loose modern style. This editorial was featured on worldwide wedding blog Magnolia Rouge. Photographer Kathryn Hopkins explains her inspiration for the shoot, and our concepts behind the stationery suite, beautifully: “I feel very passionate about designing around a location, whether that is a styled shoot or a wedding…  Natural textures with hand torn edges mimic the raw, untouched location.

This stationery suite is simple, with white ink on dove grey torn edge paper and a matching hand addressed envelope. The calligraphy on the invitation and envelope is playful and modern. These images are from Florida wedding photographer Lara Rios, who asked me to send some stationery pieces across the pond for editorial use. Lara’s fine art images of the calligraphy are wonderful!

I love to create darker, more dramatic and alternative wedding calligraphy. These pieces were gold ink on textured black paper with a torn edge, finished with gold thread and a wax seal stamp. I designed an invitation and envelope, place name cards and wedding vows in calligraphy, as well as a love letter on vintage paper. This editorial was featured on international wedding blog Hochzeitsguide. The blog’s own introduction to the piece highlights the significance of beautiful bespoke wedding stationery: “A royal seal on meaningful stationery and imperial flower arrangements in the arms of a princess – imperial bridal inspirations could not by more graceful. Golden calligraphy invites us to the social event of the year, sealing the English devolution of the crown.”
