These last couple of weeks I’ve been busy writing, and sprawled on my studio floor photographing a new batch of wedding place cards.
While gold ink on white or ivory cards has always been the most popular look, in 2017 I was asked to write lots of bolder, darker and contrasty wedding place names.
The gold and navy colour palette from this editorial feature with lovely Emma Tebbey and Taylor & Porter (featured on Wedding Sparrow blog) struck a chord with so many of my couples. And honestly, I love my gold inks and writing on navy is a dream!
So my new range of place cards includes all the modern card colours I can get my hands on – from olive green to petrol blue, with grey and rustic colour options too.
Find all of these in my online shop this summer.
Calligraphy can be so affordable… in the grand scheme of your wedding budget, a little detail like place names can provide such a lovely personal touch and for a fraction of your overall spend. My prices are crystal clear, published online and in my Etsy shop so you know just what you’re getting! You can also email me for a quote for bespoke items (signage, calligraphy menus and other stationery)
Place name calligraphy starts at just £1.10 per name for first names only if you provide the cards. For full names the price is £1.60, and if you’d like me to provide cards for you I will be happy to – they start at just 10p per card.
Calligraphy is more than just writing: it’s art, craftsmanship and creativity – and as such it lends real elegance to place settings and wedding tables. Most of my work over the summer months is writing place names for weddings, and I’m already taking bookings for weddings all the way through to December.
I have some slots available over the summer but they are running out fast, so do get in touch as soon as you can if you’d like me to write your place names in calligraphy! email@example.com

I designed these pieces for lovely Katie and Nancy at www.katiejulia.com and www.lilyandsageevents.co.uk. The grey tones work wonderfully in a long, modern and elegant script which uses the whole place name card to play with the lettering.
