I forgot how much I love the summer! If I can squeeze in 100% work and 100% play I’ll be happy.
The sunny season has kicked off in style for 2024 with some gorgeous wedding orders. I’ve loved working on a handful of wedding readings (which I’ll share soon – they’re secret for now) and special cards in calligraphy too.
Could mandarin orange be the colour of summer weddings this year?
I’m surprised by how many of these mandarin orange wedding place cards I’ve sold. When I first made them last year I sold less than a hundred, and now they’re flying out of my Etsy shop!
(Going with the ‘stick a flower next to it’ technique to disguise my shoddy photography skills)
Colour burst wedding ideas: mandarin orange
Inspired by all the orange on my desk, I made this mood board! I absolutely love all of these ideas for a vibrant summer wedding. If you want your wedding to look colourful and full of life, use your flowers, accessories, stationery and wedding signage to add joyful colour. Don’t forget the mandarin oranges for styling your tables!

When to order on-the-day wedding stationery
If you’re only just thinking about your wedding place cards it’s OK – it’s not too late to order for a summer wedding.
If you need menus, table names and place name cards get in touch at the very start of the summer (if you can!)
If it’s only place name cards you need, 2 – 4 weeks is fine. And for wedding readings in calligraphy, a couple of weeks will do.

What about learning calligraphy in time for your wedding?
If you’re planning to write your own calligraphy, come and learn with me at a workshop! I’m teaching modern calligraphy at
The Frostery Living in Saddleworth, Kendal Quaker Tapestry Museum, Beetham Nurseries and Quirky Workshops this summer.
Or buy a calligraphy kit with video tutorials from my online shop!
