I’ve always been 95% boy – it’s a bit of a standing joke in our home. I like heavy music, darkly beautiful song lyrics and grungey guitar bands – always have. And yet I spend my days crafting beautiful flourishes with a traditional calligraphy pen and ink. So I had a brainwave: I’ve combined the two to create these striking song lyric commissions in calligraphy. And because I love them, I’ve a feeling they’ll make the perfect Christmas gifts – for men!
We were due to go to Download this summer… so I missed, among others, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes. They’ve been on repeat in my car all year round, and I love the intensity and passion of Crowbar – so I had to write it. I just had to. This was the personal project which inspired me to offer bespoke song lyrics in my online shop. The darker and more interesting the song, the better!
Whatever your guy’s favourite song lyrics, I’d love to write them in calligraphy for you. And even if you don’t share the same taste in music, you’ll enjoy having a piece of calligraphy on your walls because I use my swirliest, most romantic flourishing script which works so well in white ink on dark paper. And for guests? There’ll always be a moment of “ooh, that’s pretty. Oh – is it about Satan / fighting / sex and drugs and whiskey?”

2. We’ll chat about paper and ink colours and how many choruses to include (once is usually enough, to keep costs down!)
3. I’ll ask you to make payment by bank transfer or PayPal
4. I’ll write your song lyrics in calligraphy and let you know when they’re on their way!
