Church calligraphy service – North West UK based

I offer a professional calligraphy service for churches and other organisations / establishments from the North West of the UK. This service is available to churches across the UK, with books of remembrance sent by tracked postal service and courier for safety.

Where consistency and continuity is important, I can update your book of remembrance on a regular basis, using the same style of lettering, and exact sizing of letters, dates and calligraphy nibs for consistency. This makes a big difference to the presentation of a book of remembrance.

I work from my home calligraphy studio in Furness, south Cumbria. Inscriptions in a book of remembrance are priced according to your budget, and depending on the length of wording required, as well as any illustration or illumination work.

Books of remembrance are often updated by different calligraphers over the years. In my experience, it’s a wonderful thing to see different writing styles – every entry is of course completed with the utmost care, respect and love.

I will always do my best to write in a calligraphy style similar to the rest of your Book of Remembrance. Many are written in a traditional calligraphy ‘hand’ (it’s the calligrapher’s word for a typed ‘font’), and I am able to write in italics, Roman hand, and gothic styles on request.

Calligraphy for groups and certificates

I also offer a friendly, fast certificate service for organisations, groups, clubs and schools.

This calligraphy service is available UK-wide, as certificates can be easily and safely shipped on a tracked service throughout the UK.

I write in a variety of styles from classic italics (see the book of remembrance images above) to copperplate (formal, swirly!) and modern lettering. There are style examples in my calligraphy gallery.

Prices for both church calligraphy and certificate calligraphy services depend on the complexity of the work and the time taken to complete the writing. If you have a budget for calligraphy please do let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate!
