I was over the moon when I saw these beautiful wedding calligraphy photos from Kate and Marcus’s big day. Wedding photographer Ed Peers has kindly given permission for me to show you his photos of Kate and Marcus’s wedding calligraphy:
Wedding calligraphy review
Kate’s mum, the lovely Christine, worked with me to get all the details for the wedding calligraphy just right. I really enjoyed writing all Kate and Marcus’s calligraphy – and Christine gave me such charming feedback: “We received the place cards etc and all look really marvelous. Kate is thrilled with them… Your calligraphy has become an important part of Kate’s wedding and there have been many wonderful comments.”
Kate and Marcus’s wedding reception calligraphy
I did all the calligraphy for Kate and Marcus’s wedding reception. The photos show custom made wedding breakfast menus (tassels provided by the bride and groom!), wedding place cards, table name cards in holders and wedding escort cards in calligraphy.
Wedding escort card calligraphy for Kate and Marcus
The escort cards shown below were all handwritten, and Christine added the badges and ribbon when they were finished. So I knew exactly where the calligraphy should be written, Christine sent a little mocked-up escort card with a circle drawn where the badge would be tied.
Escort cards are becoming more and more popular in the UK (soooo much easier for couples to arrange than a table plan!) – if you’d like to find out more, please visit my escort card calligraphy page.
All of Kate and Marcus’s wedding calligraphy was written in my own Freestyle Script.
Simply because I prefer writing in Spencerian and Copperplate calligraphy styles, I don’t include this style on the website any more. If you’d like a sample, please feel free to ask! Click to read our Contact Information
